Congratulations to our 2023-2024 Rising Star Award Winner:

Our proud provisional member who has shown what it means to be a member of our league.  Constantly helping out the different committees and putting forth the effort to learn the ropes of JLDB.  The winner is announced at our last General Member Meeting of the year.

Angie Hawkins has been honored with the Rising Star award, a recognition of her remarkable enthusiasm and involvement since joining the League in October 2023. Angie immediately immersed herself in the League’s activities, demonstrating a genuine commitment to making a positive impact.

Angie has actively participated in several diaper packaging events and distributions, helping local families through our Diaper Bank. She also joined the Sweetheart Ball committee, where she took the initiative to lead the GLOW station, showcasing her leadership skills. Her involvement in the New Member project, a Women’s Empowerment Brunch, was instrumental in its success. Angie secured several donated raffle baskets, raising vital funds for the Domestic Abuse Council, the event’s beneficiary.

Beyond these efforts, Angie has attended numerous meetings and volunteered for various events, including Touch-a-Truck, the Westside Elementary library refresh, the Sweetheart Ball, and various social gatherings. Known for her ever-present smile and positive energy, Angie’s kindness, generosity, and exceptional baking skills—she makes the best cupcakes—have endeared her to fellow League members.

Angie’s proactive engagement and vibrant spirit have made her a standout new member, earning her the well-deserved Rising Star award.
